Lease IT for more equitable business, says Icomm
SMEs across the region looking to upgrade their IT but who worry about the outlay amidst testing economic times should look no further than leasing, says Icomm’s Ian Callens.
It is well documented that IT is a key business driver but how do SMEs keep ahead of the competition with trying financial times abreast?
IT can be bought in a number of ways; cash, through a loan or by leasing. But with many lenders retracting loans leasing is the only option. In fact according to Callens, Sales Manager at the region’s leading IT service and support provider Icomm, leasing is the best option anyway:
"The notion of leasing IT for your business can have numerous benefits. In this current financial climate it is something we strongly recommend and will allow SMEs the ability to maintain or upgrade their IT infrastructure whilst trading in a cash-positive fashion – a position of strength. Better IT is well documented as a key business driver and will help improve business operations and customer services."
Callens suggests a list of benefits that leasing IT can have for an SME in the Midlands:
- SMEs can have top quality IT, which they may not already have in place or may not be able to afford within normal operational budgets.
- The interest cost associated with leasing is far less than that accumulated through finance deals.
- The interest cost can be used against a business’s tax, saving on expenditure and retaining money within the business, which helps cash flow.
- Leasing also allows a company to upgrade more regularly and efficiently onto new and improved operating systems.
Furthermore, there is proof that leasing is becoming more popular as recent figures from Icomm suggest an up-turn in the number of Midlands’ SMEs turning to leasing their IT:
"In recent months we have seen a 22% increase in SMEs approaching us with the view to leasing their IT. This includes clients we already support. We believe we can help SMEs from the Midlands maintain and forward their operation."
