Service and Support Helps Icomm Flourish

Birmingham based Icomm Technologies today unveiled an eight per cent plus profits rise - with turnover smashing the £2 million barrier in 2006.

...the profits and sales rise followed a number of major account wins, including NASUWT, Aldi and British Airways Cargo.
The Birmingham based IT services and IT support provider said the firm's work with organisations retained older IT systems had played a key role in the profits increase.
Ian Callens, of Icomm, said: "Service and support is a major part of our business and we have increasingly seen our customers retaining older systems that little bit longer.
"Whilst these systems are often highly robust due to their age, they still need a greater level of maintenance than a new system."
"This trend is particularly prevalent amongst SMEs and this is where we have seen growth."
"We have also undertaken a number of big installations across the UK for larger corporate clients in private and public sectors as IT continues to make its way into corporate strategy."
"Outsourced service and support are also being sacrificed as part of this package solution."
Mr Callens said the profits and sales rise followed a number of major account wins, including NASUWT, Aldi and British Airways Cargo.
"We continue to build our name as an organisation that can deliver and implement new systems in the shortest possible time with minimum disruption."
And he said Icomm was poised to cash in further amid brighter prospects for the IT sector during the coming year.
